Zoe´s deep fascination and passion for pets, animals and the natural world has guided all of her work. She is particularly interested in expressing each animal´s personality and individual character, paying particular attention to small details. Zoe is self-taught and has been developing her own precise and empathetic approach to her art over the last 38 years.

A recent encounter with a pottery kiln awakened Zoe’s curiosity about three-dimensional form and led her to explore working with clay. ”When I paint, I feel the shape of the subject I am painting with my hand and mind, so this process felt so natural and made total sense to me.” She now combines hand-sculpted forms with painted details to create pieces that feel both lifelike and personal.
